The World Champion withdrew from the World Cup because of Covid-19

The American woman lost 5 kilograms and believed that she does not have enough time for a complete recovery. The current world champion in the hammer throw, the American DeAnna Price (29), withdrew from the world championships, which begin on Friday in Eugene, after contracting a Covid-19.

This was a very difficult and heartbreaking decision, but she knows that this is the right decision for her. At this moment she isn’t good physically and mentally. She announced everything on her Social Network.

The American woman fell ill on July 1, lost 5 kilograms, and believes that she does not have enough time to fully recover before the start of the competition. Price won the gold medal at the last WC in 2019 in Doha with a result of 77.54m. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo last year, she was eighth, throwing the hammer 73.09 meters
