Steve Diamond firing up Worcester fans with his tweets

Despite the concerns that Warriors will fall into administration over the unpaid tax bill, the director of the rugby squad Steve Diamond continues with preparations for the new Gallagher Premiership campaign that starts on the 10th of September, having a fixture with London Irish. Diamond has taken over, while Worcester director this summer from Allan Solomons initially joined the club as a lead rugby consultant.

Soon, the role was updated to the first team boss after the departure of the head coach Jonathan Thomas, eight weeks later. Worcester is determined to finish the season by winning the Premiership Rugby Cup finals against London Irish while the last-day Premiership victory over Bath has lifted them off the bottom of the 13-team table into 11th place. They generated the grounds for optimism in the upcoming 2022/23 campaign and are about to witness huge improvements on the pitch in terms of consistency.

Still, those ambitions were put in the shade after controversy about HMRC issuing a petition against the club over after it was discovered they were in excess of £6 million. Since then, there was nothing but huge dismissal of support for players and staff, with goodwill adding to that, by releasing the statement by the family of late Cecil Duckworth, the investor who got Worcester into the Premiership first time in 2004 before the club was taken over by current owners Jason Whittingham and Colin Goldring.
