Twitch vs YouTube Gaming

For many years Twitch is the king of streaming. But now YouTube start to catch them. But what is the difference between those two platforms?

In the first place, on Twitch you can find channels by looking at the game you like. And in the first place, you will see the streams with the most viewers. Which is actually discriminating for streamers with a lower number of viewers. Also, you will get the random image, and for that reason, you will not be any different than any other streamer.

On YouTube, we can say that things are a little bit better. Still, it’s hard to find a perfect channel. But still, YouTube will suggest channels with a low number of viewers. Also, you can become popular if you make a couple of good videos. Not to mention that you can have your own icon, which will help you a lot.

The overall content and content guidelines

Twitch is a mostly game-oriented platform. YouTube is much more flexible with content. The rules of each page are also different. Twitch is usually much stricter than YouTube and there seems to be no problem banning people for sometimes inexplicable reasons. Fortunately, most Twitch bans are temporary and last only a few weeks, unless you have committed a serious offense. YouTube, on the other hand, doesn’t care that much. It’s a lot harder to get a ban from YouTube than from Twitch.

The money you can earn

On Twitch, every subscriber brings 5$, and 50% of that amount goes into the hands of Twitch. But if you are a bigger streamer, you can have a different contract. Also, your subscribers can donate. That money goes in the hands of the streamers. Also, you can earn money with bits, or ads. On the other side, YouTube will take 30% of the donations. But they will take only 30% from every subscriber, which is less than Twitch. Also, you can earn over the ads.

If we look at everything, on Twitch you can earn more money than on YouTube. But still, those two platforms are excellent for streaming.
